Can't Stop Won't Stop

Wore it to work and felt like I looked breezy and beautiful.

Rainbows and Butterflies

Literally. This post has all the drama.

After waiting all day to take outfit photos (because the light is miles better in the evenings), it sadly started raining just as I finished my last errand. But then, while driving home...

Focal Point

Did we know that butterflies grow this big.

It has occurred to me (for obvious reasons) that most photos of butterflies are close-ups without much sense of scale. But never fear! Here, for general edification, I present one half of a blue morpho wing juxtaposed with human face.

Field Trip

We made a day trip out of a few state parks. Favorite Girl Munchkin wanted to match, so here we are in our firefly dresses, amid the cypress trees.

We also learned about people native to the area a thousand years ago (!), cotton gins in the early 1900's, and steamboats.

The Field Guide

I've featured this dress several times already, and it was the perfect dress again today - from a meeting in the morning to errands in the afternoon, to working at home this evening.

I've decided to start featuring an interesting book on "repeat" days, and I'll begin with the Field Guide from The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

I wore this flower headband to lunch yesterday, but I took it off when I got there because it was giving me a headache. I'm not really sure it's me anyway...

Fairy Tales

The spectacles situation with Favorite Girl Munchkin has been... delicate. She says she doesn't feel pretty, and that her hair gets stuck in the them, and they're not comfortable, etc. We've tried various methods to address her unhappiness, which I won't detail here, but today...

She and I went to Claire's in the mall and picked out these clear lenses for me.

The print on this dress is certainly not for the faint of heart, and the price finally dropped low enough that I couldn't resist. Luckily I was in good company for bold and exotic today at the public library...

Part Two

Aaaaaand then I changed out of the beautiful silk dress, because it is ridiculously hot outside, and wore this little cotton dress for the rest of the day.

True confessions: this is actually my daughter's headband.

Here I cleverly pair an ombre purple silk dress with an ombre purple necklace for graduation.

When you start out the day trying for semi-professional in case you have to go in to work, but then it's so hot that you just change into the coolest dress you own.

Navy Floral Butterfly Print Dress With Cute Little Orange Bell Flowers

Work is intense these few weeks - hence the dwindling posts. But here's a dress I bought today from zulily for $9.99. I had purchased a dress in this print from an online vintage-style clothing shop last year, and after they sent me the wrong dress TWICE, I thought I'd just have to live without.

But today...

Ta-da! I present: Navy Floral Butterfly Print Dress With Cute Little Orange Bell Flowers. I admit, the shoulders look a bit pointy. Perhaps I shall be from the future when I wear it.
