Christmas Day

We are pretty much a pair this Christmas!  We had a lot of fun planning out our coordinating dresses in advance.

Beautiful Us

Here I am getting all possible wear out of my Christmas silver pleated skirt.  'Tis the season!

Favorite Girl Munchkin got a mini-me doll for her birthday, and matching fancy dresses.  Oh, and shoes.  Beautiful days.

Real Talk

This beautiful lovebird dress, which was my Easter dress from last year, makes another appearance  this winter, with fleece-lined tights and pearl earrings for work.

All Merry, All Shiny & Bright

Silver pleated skirts are everywhere this holiday season!  Mine's from Forever 21.  The sweater I had in mind was a lot harder to lay hands on, but eventually I found this one on Poshmark.

It's December

I'm excited to be making the first posts on Dress Up December that are actually in December.  More good things to come, I hope!

Winter Berries

Still getting my camera sorted, so a few more phone snaps today!  This dress is from Modcloth, the necklace is from New York & Co, and the boots are Guess via Burlington Coat Factory.  Happy December!

Little Red Sweater

My regular camera is on loan today, so here's a phone snap.  The little puffed sleeves on this top always feel cute, and the length is just right with these higher-waisted cords.

Graphic Reading

Here's a graphic novel version of The Wizard of Oz that I'm reading with my Favorite Boy Munchkin.  Graphic novels in general are a little harder for me to process than a regular novel, but this one is very well done, and the illustrations really are amazing.

Bells On

I have tried and tried to wear leopard print (I love prints!), but it just never looks right.  Even in a little scarf-sized dose.

Never, that is, until I found this little sweater top at Old Navy a couple of years ago.  The print is big and polka-dot-ish, and it finally fits my style.

Needs More Yellow

For better or for worse, here's the previous outfit, layered up for an evening out!  (With Flareon, currently my highest combat point Pokemon.)

Yellow scarf: old.  Probably Costplus World Market

Classic black and white while the scenery is in full color.

Pouferrific

This week I succumbed to the pouf.  I've been keeping an eye on the poufs in the accessories section and snapping them up on clearance (for use in future knitting projects - I'm a dreamer!)  But then... I saw this little fancy fox and had to have her for my own.

Eevee Earhart

Charizard the Great and Powerful, and Eevee the Evolutionarily Diverse, on Halloween.  The Charizard hat took me ages and ages, the wings gave me fits... and the end result is all worth it.
Joined here by Elsa of Arendelle and her Extraordinarily Long Train.
My Eevee hat unexpectedly turned out shades of famous aviatrix...

Eevee hat, Charizard hat, wings, tail: made by me!  Excellent tutorials for fleece hats, wired ears, and fleece eyes from clearkid on Deviantart.   Eevee's ruff is cut from a faux fur throw from Kmart.

Little Furry Things

Combined with a dark purple sweater dress, these little brown furry hairclips and the garnet studs satisfy my inner gothic-tinged victorian.   For now...

Boston in the Fall

Busy month!  We travelled to glorious New England last weekend.  Here are a few photos SOOC:

I knit all the hats you see here except for the one Favorite Boy Munchkin is wearing, with the bill.  Turquoise puffer vest from Lands End last spring, blue fleece by The North Face (old), and blue jeans from Old Navy.

That 70's Vibe

...by which I mostly mean - those 70's jeans.  They are from Old Navy, and we are in love.

Currently Obsessed With... Burgundy

Luckily, burgundy is the "in" color this fall, and it's everywhere!
Unluckily... it's all at in-season prices.    Anyway, let's begin.
This skirt from Eva Mendes for New York & Company.  It's burgundy, obviously, the length is work-appropriate, it has pockets, and I like the lace.

It would go beautifully with this top from Lauren Conrad for Kohls.  I actually tried on this top in the store, and the print is pretty, but the material isn't that great, the print doesn't go all the way around (the back is a t-shirt), and it's also sheer.
Here's the green version, with the coordinating blazer also from Lauren Conrad for Kohls.
These earrings from The Limited would dress up any combination of the items here and coordinate with same.
The Crocheted infinity scarf from Express is one of my favorite things on this list.
I'd love to wear this navy polka dot tee from Aeropostale under a plaid shirt like the one below.
Burgundy plaid button-up shirt from Hollister (cotton/poly).
Pretty chandelier earrings from The Limited.
I have absolutely nowhere that I could wear this pretty, dusky pink tulle skirt from Modcloth.
But it would look so pretty with these flower earrings from The Limited.  (They also come in burgundy.)
