On Vixen

This outfit would be a be a great opportunity to expound on the wonders of a simple black and white palette accented with few key accessories.  I tried something new today by wearing a scarf, but the look still seemed so plain at picture time.  It could've been the opportunity to showcase a great bag that makes the outfit, but since I only have one all-purpose bag, I grabbed this friendly reindeer instead.  

Red Cables

I've been wearing this red wool cable sweater with jeans, but it's also very cozy with a plaid skirt and fleece-lined tights. 

You Can Read Me Anything

Both the plaid from the shirt and the hearts on the sweater are simple and small in area.  This lets both patterns shine, and they complement each other as well - the red in the plaid is the same red as one of the rows of hearts.

Here I am in my pink sheep sweater, getting ready to make some hats this afternoon.  The sweater is actually cotton, and very comfortable.  

Currently Obsessed With... Easter-Valentine

Also known as the season of Beautiful Dresses Are Everywhere.

First up, Blue Parakeets from Modcloth.   I really love this dress.  It doesn't particularly say Easter or Valentine to me, but the print is adorable, the color is flattering, and I think it would be long enough that I could wear it anywhere.

Let's see.  Also from Modcloth, the Only Time Will Twirl dress.  The blue is really beautiful, the (2) reviews are positive, and I can think of a myriad of items currently in my closet it would go with, even in winter/spring -- and it would certainly be versatile through the summer, too.  

Merry and Bright

It's freezing out (literally!) and so it's a good day for a cozy wool sweater.  It's also a good day for a wool coat!  Here's what I actually looked like while out and about today, below:

Plaid and Books

I love this plaid dress from Modcloth.  It's understated enough to wear to work, and it has pockets.  The necklace is a bookshelf print from Etsy - modern, grown-up schoolgirl today.

Sweater dresses and fleecy tights are the order of the day.  Here I am after work (aka after dark), brought to you via phone again.  This cabled purple sweater dress works beautifully with orange butterfly earrings and a white geode pendant necklace.  

Winter Gear

We went hiking this past weekend, and my nice camera broke, so this is a phone shot.  My winter gear!  This is my second year wearing this puffer coat from Kohls, and the hat is a cloche-type, surprisingly warm charmer knit by me this winter.  Snowflake earrings to celebrate the first snow of the winter for us.

Winter Sun

Love this dress!  It a nice heavy jersey, and machine washable.  Sweater was $10 on clearance.  It is a beautiful sunny winter day and this is the perfect outfit for it.
