The fox sweater is back!  This time over a plaid wool dress for Sunday.  This dress has a lot of stellar details - seen below is a kicky little pleat in the back.

I love this matching outfit!  We were out and about this weekend visiting some state parks, and these cotton sweaters were just right.  

Dressed Out

I. Love. This. Color.   The buttons do make me feel a tiny bit like Mrs. Claus... or an extra in The Nutcracker.  Such as a gingerbread person.   Nevertheless, feeling spectacular!

Me and the Trees

We are showing off our greens and yellows this fall.  I love the cut on this knit, and it also looks great with my lab coat.  (The little ruffles poke out the ends of the sleeves!!)

Perfect Floral

The floral on this dress is just too perfect that I bought it even though the colors don't match anything else I own.  That's the beauty of a dress!  I felt lovely and stunning and all those other nice words in it.  

Birds of a Feather

More make your own matching!  I'm wearing a bird dress I got at Modcloth's Sale-On-Sale this past summer, and Favorite Girl Munchkin's navy bird dress is from H&M.

This dress is part of my "fall capsule" for this season - more on that later, hopefully.  The weather is juuuuust now turning slightly cool.

Scaaaarves

I bought this scarf in the middle of summer when I had all these ideas for fall style and it was on clearance.  I have many pretty scarves, and I always think I should be more confident about wearing them.  Behold, my scarf mastery!

Totality

We traveled about 4 hours today to be in a totality zone for today's solar eclipse.  You can see below -  it got quite dark during the ~2 minutes of totality.  Sunset colors appeared on the horizon, crickets started chirping, and Venus was visible in the sky. 

My Favorite Munchkins wore their solar system t-shirts, and I wore this really fantastic solar system necklace.  (It even includes Pluto: still a planet when I was learning astronomy growing up!)  I love it completely.  Aren't we awesome???

It's impossible to find affordable mother-daughter outfits that I'd really like to wear, so here we are cobbling together our own!  My dress is Sunday in Brooklyn from Anthropologie (via Poshmark), and hers is Gymboree (also via Poshmark.)  We had so much fun wearing out "matching" red roses dresses today.  

Mother's Day

Earrings from my daughter were 75 cents at Walmart... it's a rule that if your child gives you jewelry for Mother's Day, you have to wear it all day!  She has good taste, I think.

This top and pants are old favorites, but I got this hair clip at the Dillards New Years Sale, and I've been wearing it All The Time.  I love how one little thing can make an old outfit feel special and new again.

Dusting

We got a dusting of snow on Thursday night - now finally the sun is out!  This sweater is surprisingly warm without being itchy.  

Also, how often can you say about a sweater that the color may be sober... but the cut is so festive?  Usually I find it's the opposite.
